DIY Pearl Necklace

I based the way I made this necklace on the way I made the turquoise necklace from this post. I just made some slight modifications to fit the vision I had in my head. So if you're looking for a more detailed description, check out that post. Here I'm just going to show the changes I made.

For this project I used beads of several colors and sizes. I wanted to this necklace to look like more of a random mish-mash of pretty pearl and sparkly things. I made each strand look different with different types of beads on each strand and different size pearls within strands.

For my turquoise necklace, when I finished making each strand I braided them together. For this one, though, I wanted it to look more random so I just twisted strands together to make it look less organized. Again I finished it off with a ribbon. I love the way it turned out!

See how I've worn it here and here.

What do you think about making your own jewelry?

  4. Pretty! I love making my own accessories-it's definitely more fun to tell someone you made it then to tell them the store...who wants to look like everyone else?!
