So today's post is going to be a little different. For Christmas I decided to make my baby cousin a gift rather than buying something. I'm really proud about the way it turned out and I thought other people might like to see how I did it. Without further ado, this is how I made a magnet board I made for my 18 month old cousin.
Step 1: Pick an adorable piece of fabric and iron it out. I used an old remnant piece that I found in the back of my closet. My piece has probably been folded up in that closet for 10 years. Because of this ironing was probably my biggest challenge of the whole process.

Step 2: Mark a center point and outside points. Use your middle point to make points all around the outside of the circle.

Step 3: Connect the dots you made in the previous step. I just free-handed this step. I made enough marks before so I felt like I could make a close enough circle.

Step 5: Fold over 5/8" and pin the heck out of it. Iron it as best as you can around your pins.

Step 6: Sew it down. I used a zig-zag stitch in white. I decided to use the white so the stitch would stand out.

Step 7: This is where I ironed my fabric...again. If your fabric doesn't still have wrinkles in it you shouldn't have to do this step.Your hem might have a couple of little bumps in it, but it won't be a problem once you glue it to your pan.
Step 8: Hot glue your fabric to your pan. I used a dot of glue in the center and then all around the rim. (I couldn't get pictures of this because my glue dried more quickly than I could get pictures.)
Congratulations! Now that your board is done, it's time to make cute button magnets for your board.
Step 1: Pick out some colorful bottons. I have two ziploc bags of buttons, so I had a lot to choose from. Make sure to pick big and small buttons.

Step 2: Hot glue your bigger button to the magnet. Press tight for 5 seconds to make sure that it dries in place. Then glue your smaller button in the middle of your bigger button.

Step 3: Repeat! Make as many as you'd like.
That's it! The only thing left to do is watch your adorable little person play with his new magnets.

By the way, look at how well dressed that little guy is!
