Hello, everyone! I hope you all had a wonderful holiday. Christmas and New Year were both pretty low key which was perfect for me. One thing that I loved, that seems to be a budding tradition for me, is going shopping with my mom. For the past couple of years my parents have decided to not buy me much for Christmas and instead just give me some money to go shopping with my mom. It's great because then I can get exactly what I want (no return lines if I don't like it or it doesn't fit!) and I get to spend some quality time with my mom.
Because of that wonderful shopping trip, I was able to get basically everything that I had been lusting after. However, now I have a ton of new clothes and I want to make sure I really will be able to wear and remix them. Plus, my birthday is only six weeks after Christmas so I don't want to do any more shopping until then. So I decided to do a 15 for 15 challenge. The original 30 for 30 challenge, started by Kendi, is a way to shop your own closet and utilize what you already have. So with my twelve new items and three added pieces I'm going to give myself a new challenge.
So here are my specific rules for this challenge:
1. I can only use 15 items to create 15 outfits.
2. I don't have to (and definitely will not) wear the 15 outfits on consecutive days.
3. All accessories are fair game.
4. Coats are not included in the 15 items because it's January and I hate being cold.
5. No shopping until my birthday.
Now here are my 15 items!

All the items are new from Christmas except for the red sweater, leopard cardigan, and black pencil skirt. Stick around and see what I come up with!

That's a great Christmas idea!! You get what you want, quality time with your mom, and get to take advantage of great sales! Can't wait to see what you come up with during your 15 for 15...I'm wearing those nude heels today. :)

It's definitely something I love doing with my mom. And don't you love those heels! They will be so versatile. :)
DeleteGood for you doing a 15x15! I may challenge myself to a 15X15 or a 30x30 this year, we shall see.
ReplyDeleteI think it's a really fun idea, and by not wearing all the outfits consecutively I think it will be a lot easier to not get worn out by the challenge. Good luck if you choose to do a challenge!
DeleteFun! I actually think this might be more challenging that a 30x30! Excited to see what you come up with!

I just finished this challenge a few weeks ago. I thought 30 for 30 was too long so i did 15 for 15 too. You can go check it out on my blog if you want. I would love it if you did.

Oh Mary Lindsey I would love to do such a challenge sometime this year. Right now is not the right time since I am 36 weeks pregnant & I don't go out much, but I think anytime after April might work. And I might try a 15 for 15 first. I also like that you are not doing it consecutively. I need to challenge myself more this year. Also, I am seeing how a couple more girls just started doing this now for the New Year. So you are not alone. Good Luck & I will make sure I check along. =)
ReplyDeleteI can imagine a wardrobe challenge would be a bit difficult when pregnant. I don't think I could be successful with the challenge if I had to do it consecutively. Thanks for stopping by. :)
