I love the five posts that you wonderful readers made my most popular posts (see them here). But I also have a couple of personal favorites. The main reason I love these looks so much is because they are things I had never thought to do before. Since I started really reading blogs and began my own blog, I've taken many more sartorial risks and tried so many things that I had never thought of before. So here are some of my personal favorites from 2012.
Time For Fall?
I love the combination of the bright red and turquoise with the neutrals. Plus this was shortly after I began thrifting and I loved pairing my thrifted pieces with some of my other favorites from my closet.

Mixing It Up

Before wearing this outfit, I had never worn that floral top unbuttoned. It was one of the (many) articles of clothing that I had only envisioned wearing one way and never tried anything else. When I wore it over this dress with a belt, it was so different for me and seemed so cool and different. Plus, I love the country chic vibe that it achieved!

Jeans
This is one of my favorite scarves and I love the way it picks up the neutral colors in this outfit while still adding some pink and blue. This is definitely a pretty simple outfit, but I really love it.

Knotted Up

This is another outfit where I tried something very new for me. I had never thought of tying a tank top in a knot to keep the proportion right for wearing over a dress. In fact I had never really thought of wearing a tank top over a dress at all. The black top of the dress is cute, but a pink snoopy tank top might be even better.

Getting Ahead of Myself
Again, I really would have never thought to wear a shirt over a dress. It just never really occurred to me before entering the blogging world. Once I did, I loved it! I love the print of this dress, but I also love that I can tone it down a little by adding a neutral top over it. Next time I might leave off the belt, but other than that I would totally repeat this outfit.

Those are some of my favorite outfits from this year. What was your favorite?
I definitely think these were some of my favorite looks you shared this year too! Particularly the floral shirt and pink dress with the western boots. And the black denim with your jean jacket. All so cute! I'll have to keep a few of these in mind for 2013 inspiration. Thanks for sharing, Mary!

I think my favorite part of blogging is getting a chance to get inspiration from what others have tried and to put together an outfit you would've never imagined before blogging! :) I think my favorite look is the shirt over a dress. It makes me really want to give the idea a try - it's such a great way to get more use out of a dress!

I love finding inspiration from other bloggers, including you! Thank you so much for your sweet comment, Jess!
DeleteMary, I too like the outfits you chose. My favorites are the first two. I also Wore Red & Turquoise a lot this year. That wide belt is so cute. The second outfit with the Magenta Mini & Floral Button-Down is pretty & unexpected. I also love the last look. Cute idea of wearing a V-Neck over a collared dress. =)
ReplyDeleteBy the way I love your blog. I would appreciate if you follow me back. Thanks. =)
Have a Great Weekend, Ada.
Thanks!
